Cengage Learning announced a partnership with Boston-based edtech hub LearnLaunch which promotes education technology through events, an accelerator program and co-working space.
As part of the partnership Cengage will invest and participate in the LearnLaunch accelerator program as well as sponsor the upcoming LearnLaunch Conference.
Other LearnLaunch sponsors include Pearson and McGraw-Hill Education.

Learning portfolio platform Pathbrite has raised a $3.7 million Series B led by Cengage Learning with participation of existing investors ACT and Serious Change.
This latest round brings the total funding raised by Pathbrite to $11.7 million. Pathbrite will use the funding to expand its sales and customer care team and plans to offer its platform in other markets including Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.

Cengage Learning announced a partnership with Celebrus Technologies which aims to capture and analyze behavioral data of students and teachers to better understand how educational content is used in the classroom.
Celebrus Technologies’ big data software will be implemented in CengageNOW, Aplia and MindTap. The software will track log-in time, most visited pages and length of time spent on a page and the data is going to be used in research and development for existing and future digital products.

Fresh out of bankruptcy, Cengage Learning opened a new Innovation Hub in San Francisco. The opening comes only two weeks after Cengage relocated its HQ to Boston.
The move to Boston and opening of the Innovation Hub are part of Cengage’s new strategy to emphasize the company’s efforts on the research and development of digital learning products in K-12 and higher education and to become a global edtech leader.
