Open Source LMS Moodle launches iPhone App My Moodle

The popular open source learning management system Moodle announced a free iPhone mobile application called My Moodle.

The app is not a replacement or stand alone version of Moodle on the iPhone but it delivers useful tools for mobile users. With My Moodle teachers are able to

  •  upload pictures and video to your Private Files area in Moodle
  •  record and upload an audio file to your Private Files area
  •  view the participant list of your courses
  •  view information about the participants
  •  send a private Moodle message
  •  add a private note about someone
  •  work offline with automatic synchronization
  •  copy a Moodle user to your mobile address book
  •  access the web version of your Moodle site
  •  access Moodle documentation

The app works with version 2.1 or later of Moodle and web services need to be enabled on the LMS.

Moodle is currently used by 1.1 million teachers, 45 million users and 55.000 sites worldwide and there is also a growing number of extensions like the WizIQ classroom that can be integrated to the LMS.
