Chandler-based Synergis Education has raised a $5 million Series A2 from Mitsui USA reports EdSurge.
As part of the investment Amit Avnet, Director, Consumer Service Business Division of Mitsui USA. joins the Synergis Board of Directors. Founded in 2011, the company previously raised $33 million from University Ventures Fund, Bertelsmann and others.
Synergis Education provides colleges and universities with a suite of products ranging from on ground to online and hybrid degree programs for non-traditional adult learners. Other products offered by Synergis include integrated services like marketing and enrollment management, academic program and instructional design support, technology integration and course delivery, student retention support and placement and student accounting.
Mitsui USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan. and pursues business in a variety of fields including product sales, worldwide logistics and financing.

Synergis plans to use the funding to expand programs at its partner universities which include Cornerstone University, Gwynedd Mercy University, University of Southern California and others with a focus on healthcare programs. Synergis also plans to add new partner institutions.
