BrightBytes, an education data analytics platform raised a $15 million Series B led by Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) with participation of existing investors, including Rethink Education and Learn Capital.
This latest round brings the total funding raised to $18.5 million.
Currently, one in ten schools in the United States are clients of BrightBytes. Its flagship product Clarity aims to make data simple, fun and actionable. BrightBytes plans to use the funding to grow its team of engineers and data scientists. The startup also plans to expand outside of the US.
BrightBytes aims to help educators and school leaders to make educated decisions on where to spend money on technology or where training and teacher development is needed. According to BrightBytes there are at least 22 factors that need to be considered when it comes to implementing technology in classrooms and those factors are different on a school to school basis.
