HEDLINE: CourseHorse raises $1.3 million Series A


CourseHorse, a platform that centralizes and curates offline classes and courses for lifelong learners raised a $1.3 million Series A with participation of Learn Capital and a group of angel investors.

CourseHorse previously raised a $500k Seed Round from New York Angels, NYC Seed and Golden Seeds.

According to an interview with PandoDaily CourseHorse is profitable since late 2013. The service is free to sign up and use for educators and students, providers pay a fee for each booking of a seat in a class.

The platform currently has more than 40.000 classes and courses in New York and Los Angeles listed. Topics range from Art and Acting over Dance and Fitness to Language and Tech.

The funding is going to be used to develop new features and expand into new cities including Chicago, Boston and San Francisco in 2014.
