Blackboard and the Brazilian education company Grupo Positivo announced a strategic partnership.
Under the partnership Blackboard’s technology will be implemented in the offers of the different subsidiaries of Grupo Positivo.
Positivo University will adopt Blackboard’s platform for its students and teachers. Users of Portal Universitario, an education portal created by Positivo Informatica, will be given the option to transition onto Blackboard’s online solution. Editora Positivo and Positivo Informatica will implement Blackboard solutions into their teacher training programs.
“With more than seven million students in higher education and projections to double over the next few years, Brazil is one of the most dynamic countries in the world for education. We are very excited about this agreement. Not only will it extend our reach and elevate our brand in Brazil, but we will be able to work with Grupo Positivo on the shared mission of taking an innovative approach to how education is delivered.”
states Matthew Small, managing director and senior vice president, international at Blackboard in the press release.
Just recently the Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación (SNTE) announced that it has selected Declara as technology platform to deliver training to 1.6 million teachers and administrators in Mexico. The startup raised a $16 million Series A shortly after this announcement was made public.
