This weekend starting from today, the first Education Hack Day Baltimore dedicated to public education will take place.

The organisation of the event follows the idea of a startup weekend, so tonight we’ll see the pitches of the individual projects each evaluated by teaching professionals, then the classic next 48h are dedicated to building the products. On Sunday, Nov 13 we’ll see the presentation of the projects which will also be live streamed.

I asked the founder of StartupBaltimore.org and organizer of the Education Hack Day Mike Brenner why he initiated a hackathon for education, how they differentiate from Startup Weekend EDU, their general hopes and objectives for the event and what part the business aspect of the individual projects is going to play.

For those of you located on the East Coast and interested in education, this might we an interesting event to attend and some tickets are still available.

EDUKWEST is proud to sponsor the Education Hackday Baltimore and you’ll get to see interviews with the three winners in case you can neither go nor watch the live stream.
