This week on EDUKWEST is dedicated to video-based learning and in episode 81 I talked with Hansoo Lee, co-founder and CEO of Magoosh about the startup.

Magoosh provides a new and affordable way to train for the GRE, GMAT and SAT standardized tests based on short videos followed by practice questions.

Magoosh believe that learning via video is one of the trends with the biggest potential in education today. Their aim is to provide learners preparing for one of the standardized tests with short roughly 5-minute-long videos that are all designed to solve a particular problem.

The video portal also allows learners to see their progress and dig deeper into the analytics of their performance.

Test preparation is a $ 1 Billion market, so for companies that offer the right products for today’s learners, it is apparent that there is money to be made. Of course, Grockit comes to mind who just raised $ 7 million and on the non-profit side there is the almighty Khan Academy.
